Godan Foundation is a Social Enterprise which aims at making books, tablets and other learning electronic devices available to partner schools and communities to teach pupils how to read and develop innovative sense at the basic stages and prepare them for lucrative employments by 18 years of age through Read for Career courses at a reduced cost and duration based on the interest and resources available for employment to the trainees.
Godan was registered in 2024, to replace Ehihamo Development Organization, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2002.
As portrayed in its organizational motto, “Your partner in development”, the organization collaborates and works closely with a wide range of institutions including development partners, volunteers and others in carrying out its mandate. It also raises funds from Donor Agencies, Philanthropists, Corporate Bodies and other sources across the world to finance its projects.
BRIEF BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
Godan Foundation started as a Community Based Organization in the year 2002, labeled, Ehihamo State Acting Group. It was officially registered with the Registrar General’s Department in 2006 as Ehihamo Development Organization, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
It collaborates with the Ghana Education Service, Ghana AIDS Commission, Centre for Integrated and Rural Development, Corporate Firms and Philanthropists among others and implemented Educational, Health and several Developmental Projects between 2002 and 2011.
From 2011 – 2013, Godan Foundation piloted a Reading and Spelling Training Program for basic schools in the Greater Accra Region. In March, 2017, the organization tested the functionality and durability of Ghana Reading Icon with selected schools approved by the Ghana Education Service in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
The nature of the program requires sufficient reading and training books. Hence, from 2018 till date has been dedicated to research and writing of the said books and concise software.
In this regard, we will utilize our experiences to ensure such a pertinent educational program makes books, tablets and other learning electronic devices available to partner schools and communities for Reading, Innovative Sense and Career development to support Economic Advancement at the national, regional and district levels.

The above calls for Research, Advocacy, Academic and Technical Expertise, Mobilization of Funds and Resources and Volunteer to implement the project in partnership with appropriate agencies at National, Regional and Municipal / District levels.
The Organization is composed of a Chief Executive Officer, Project Directors, Partner Schools and Communities, Sponsors/Donors and Volunteers. They are drawn from Corporate Businesses, Ministries, Schools/ Communities and Trade Unions.
The Technical and Administrative functions of the Organization are carried out by a Secretariat headed by the Chief Executive Officer with Directors responsible for Program Development, Training and Implementation, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Finance and others. As the Executive arm of the Organization, the Secretariat focuses on making books, tablets and other learning electronic devices available to partner schools and communities for Reading, Innovative Sense and Career Development to support Economic Advancement at the national, regional and district levels.

Our library is full of books designed to help pupils learn to read or enhance their reading skills to be able to pick information from what they read and make use of it according to their social and economic needs.
